Who Can Apply to Become a Resident?
Accommodation at Arthur West House, Hampstead, is of a temporary nature.
Residents are encouraged and are given support, where needed, to move on to more permanent housing within eighteen months of their arrival.
Subject to availability, accommodation is allocated to those who fall within our resident eligibility criteria, as outlined below, with top priority being given to those who can demonstrate that they are in greatest housing need.
To be considered for a place in the Hyelm wing of Arthur West House you must be:
- in the age range of 16 up to 25 years; and
- coming to London or newly arrived in London (usually by four weeks or less) to work or to study; and
- in housing need and have few or no other housing options; and
- capable of basic personal care.
To be considered for a place in the Ames House wing of Arthur West House, you must be:
- a woman in the age range of 17 up to 24 years; and
- in work or vocational training in London; and
- in housing need and have no or few other housing options; and
- capable of basic personal care.

The purpose of the application form is to help us to determine whether or not you meet our resident eligibility criteria and to establish the extent to which you are in need of the accommodation and services that we provide.
It is, therefore, very important that you complete the form accurately and in full so that your application can be dealt with as quickly as possible.
It is important to note that any false statement made in your application will give us the right to terminate any subsequent Licence or other Tenancy Agreement that we enter into with you.
